A RETREAT?
A TRUELY UNIQUE EXPERIENCE
Sometime in the last century arrived a man- a civil engineer by profession, to a piece of land which was bestowed to him. The land was a challenge, rejected by many as it was a hard laterite hill with stubborn wild grass and thorn bushes, but he was up for it. Trusting himself and with prayers to the river which surrounded the land from three sides to help him, he brought his family to this new settlement and started working hands on. Gradually arose paddy fields, farms and young coconut plantations. The hard laterite mass gave a home to beautiful farms, cattle & humans, along with many other life forms and got to be called as the 'Bharadwaj Ashram'.
This is where RtAyu stands.
We share this space with the original inhabitants of the land- the wilderness, the insects, birds and animals. We are thankful that they have adjusted with our expansions but are also mindful to respect their presence and movements. You wont see manicured gardens or artificial grass here. We invite you to experience the best deal of liveable raw space.
The land is Sacred- Conscious and Living enriched by the millions of lives that live within it, of which we are just a fraction.
About the Town
Sullia is a small unassuming town that sits at the foothills of the great Western Ghats- a world renowned biodiversity hotspot. Most of the people here keep themselves busy in growing or selling coconut, pepper, arecanut and bananas. Weather is humid all the time- it can go just less or more but never absent. We have glorious monsoon from June to September with a couple of months of pre & post showers. Official summer is from March to May but hey! this is tropics, whom are you kidding?
Did you know?
This place is one of the 36 'biodiversity hotspots' of India. You will meet plenty of unique insects, birds and animals. Remember to celebrate raw nature.
